Seeking information on William Rider or Ryder born abt 1730.
Thank you in advance.

I’m sorry, I have no info on your William Rider.
I need a copy of the birth date of Matthew Pate and his parents. Let me know how much this will cost. Thank you, Mary B Payne
I am researching the Harper family. My direct ancestor was James Harper. He lived in Abingdon Parish in the mid-1700’s. His daughter’s name was Susan or Susannah Harper. She married John Brooks 30 June 1840 in Mathews County, VA. Would you check the parish records for this family? Thank you so much!
Claudia,
I’m sorry, but I do not conduct research into the Abingdon Parish Registers. When I visited the Swem Library at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg I only looked up and took photos of my HOBDAY family. If you are interested, find more info on how you can get copies of parish records at https://www.familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Abingdon_Parish,_Virginia
Regards,
Elaine

Claudia,
The Friends of the Museum has announced that Robert W. Robin’s compilation of “The Register of Abingdon Parish, Gloucester County, Virginia, 1677-1780,” has been republished.
Listing the dates of births, deaths and marriages of Abingdon Parish members throughout those years, the project was a joint effort between Robins, the Gloucester Genealogical Society and the Friends of the Museum.
Some pictures and biographies contained in the first printing in 1981 have been updated.
The book is a 233-page softbound version and may be purchased for $24 at the Museum of History in the old Botetourt Hotel, 6539 Main St., Gloucester.
For more information, call 804-693-1234.
I am sorry. I do not do research of the Abingdon Parish records. I only visited the Swem Library once to see the original registers and to take photos of the pages that had listings for HOBDAY for my own family research.
