OBITUARY - Grand-Ma Hatfield
Grand-Ma Hatfield died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm J. Dodds, in
Bainbridge township, on last
Friday, aged 88 years, 3 months and 7 days. She was a native of Kentucky,
but had lived many years in this
state.
She was the mother of ten children, five of whom are living. Her live was
exemplary. She was a faithful
member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for over forty years. She died
in full assurance of an abundant
entrance in heaven. She selected the text which had been used at her
husband's funeral (Rev 14:13) for her
own, and the writer conducted the services in the presence of a large and
sympathizing audience. Though a
very disagreeable day, the neighbors and friends joined in a cavalcade
numbering over fifty vehicles and
accompanied the remains to their final resting place in the Gillett
cemetery.
(died 1894) M G Sweeney.

Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed
are the dead which die in the
Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from
their labours; and their works do
follow them.
