Mrs. Wm Hatfield
Blanche McHenry was born in Harrison County, MO, March 9, 1880 departed
this life November 8, 1903, aged 23
years, 7 months, 29 days. She was married January 29, 1899 to William R.
Hatfield. She leaves a husband,
one little son, Harold, father, mother, two sisters and four brothers to
mourn her loss. years ago she
made a profession of religion. Her faith in God was so simple, her hope
in God's gift of eternal life so
firm, that the building of christian character was a structure so
faultless as to be almost envied by those
who knew her. When the summons came, and she knew that she would soon
leave this world for the mansions of
the final faithful, her sould bounded with ecstatic joy, and she plead
with the sorrowing loved ones about
her bedside not to weep for her. She requested that a number of favorite
hymns be sung, one of them being
"Nearer My God to Thee." After making all arrangements for her funeral
and saying the last goodbyes she
exclaimed, "Oh, everything looks so beautiful. I can see the Savior.: She
was no more, for the Father had
translated her soul to the joys of his presence.
The funerl services, as she requested, were conducted by the Rev.
Hornaday, pastor ot the M. E. Church of
Beaver City, at the Advent Church. Her remains were interred in the
Beaver City cemetary. All join in
hearfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones.
