Abel Musick, a late grandson of Elexious, spoke of the scars on his face.
These were caused when the Shawnee Indians rubbed his face against an oak
tree for crying while he was being held by them as a captive in August
1792. Elexious owned two Negro slaves. One, a woman, was named Mariah.
Nearly all the Musicks now living (1977) in West Virginia, Tennesee,
Western and SW VA are descendants of Elexious. - The Musick Book by
