Mary Hatfield in entry for Ransom R. Dotson, 1955.
-----------------------------------------
Uncle Ransom had a lot of god stories. One of them was that he told his
"Pap"-Preacher Anse-- that Devil Anse had been baptized. He said the old
man asked him who baptized Devil Anse, and Ransom told him:"Uncle Dyke
Garrett." He said the old man went silent for several seconds, and Ransom
asked him if something was wrong. The old man, said, "No, I was just
thinking..maybe Anderson would be a little better off with a preacher who
believed a little more in GRACE than a Campbellite like Dyke."
